Original story continues below
The Motorola Edge 70 was launched globally as the brand’s thinnest smartphone, measuring 5.99mm in thickness. It launched in China as the Moto X70 Air and then in Europe as the Edge 70. Now, it is expected to arrive in India this month with the same thin profile but a different design and a larger battery. The Motorola Edge 70 has a 4,800mAh battery, which is smaller than its predecessor, the Edge 60’s 5,500mAh unit. A larger battery makes sense, as most phones these days come with 7,000mAh batteries.
Price
The Motorola Edge 70 will launch in India on December 15th. The Indian variant of the Edge 70 is rumored to have a “completely new design” and a larger battery, while still maintaining the 5.99mm thin profile.

The handset is also expected to be priced under Rs 35,000. Despite being more affordable than the global variant, the Edge 70 will be more expensive than its predecessor, the Edge 60, which launched in India at Rs 25,999.

Performance
Other rumored specifications for the Motorola Edge 70 include a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is the same as the global variant.
Camera
It is also rumored to have a 50MP triple camera setup, which could be similar to the global Edge 70’s setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP selfie camera. If Motorola proceeds with this setup, the Edge 70 will lack a telephoto lens, which is present in the Edge 60.
The battery capacity is currently unknown, but the Edge 70 in India might feature wireless charging support. This would be a significant upgrade for a non-flagship phone, but reliable battery life will likely be more important to buyers in this price segment.
Colour
The Motorola Edge 70 is expected to launch in three colors, similar to its global variant. Gadget Grey, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green.
The Edge 70 is the latest phone to join the trend of slim handsets, following the likes of the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it stands out because it will be more affordable than the other two slim phones. With a larger battery, the Edge 70 would have an advantage over the iPhone Air and the S25 Edge. However, we will have to see how the Edge 70 competes with its rivals in the same price segment, and how much of a difference the slim design actually makes.
If you are currently using the Edge 60, it would be best to wait for reviews of the Edge 70, as some specifications might be downgraded. However, for anyone looking for a slim phone, the Edge 70 could still be a good option.
